Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this website, study with us, and visit our salon floor comfortably.

Our commitment

We’re committed to making our website and our college accessible to as many people as possible. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards across the site, and we keep working to improve.

On this website

  • Text resizes without breaking the layout, and colour contrast meets AA on body text.
  • The site is keyboard-navigable, with visible focus states.
  • Images carry meaningful alternative text; forms have associated labels.
  • Forms and calculators on this site don’t require third-party cookies to work. Our embedded Google Map on the Contact page loads directly from Google and isn’t currently behind a consent gate — noted here rather than glossed over.

If something doesn’t work for you, tell us — we’ll fix it and help you get what you need in the meantime.

Learning-need adaptations

Where learners identify additional needs at enrolment, we arrange adaptations before the start date, including:

  • Large-print manuals and slides
  • Extended time for written papers
  • One-to-one tutor support during practicals
  • Audio recording of sessions (with consent of all participants)
  • Written transcripts of verbal instruction
  • Flexible break schedules and coloured overlays for dyslexia support
  • Verbal assessment in place of a written paper where appropriate

Tell us at enrolment and we’ll set them up.

Getting in and around

Step-free access to the ground-floor training salon and reception, and an accessible WC on site. Tell us about any access requirements when you book a visit or a treatment and we’ll prepare for them.

Telling us about a problem

Email enrol@thehairandbeautycollege.co.uk or call 01925 747371. If you’re not satisfied with our response, our Complaints procedure explains the next steps.
